The School of Leadership and Human Resource Development at Louisiana State University announces an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position.  The person hired for this position will contribute to the teaching and ongoing development of a BS program in Learning Experience Design and Innovation.  This program prepares students to be leaders in the design, development, and implementation of web-based and e-learning technologies in today’s workplace that are user-friendly, contemporary and engaging. 
 
This is a 9-month academic appointment with an anticipated start date of January or August 2020.  Options for summer employment are available.  Successful candidates must hold doctorate or be a doctoral student in the candidacy phase with graduation by January or August 2020.   The School of Leadership and Human Resource Development houses a vibrant, interdisciplinary group of scholars whose teaching, scholarship, research, and outreach centers on the creation of positive change in people, organizations, and communities globally.  Successful candidates will be collaborative team players who conduct high quality research and can contribute to the development and teaching of superior graduate and undergraduate courses.  Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The positions will remain open until filled.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
• Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Instructional Systems Technology, Instructional Systems Design, Human Resource Development, Leadership, I/O Psychology, or closely related field.   
• In-depth understanding of pedagogical issues related to the effective use of technology and online learning and programming, particularly in the workplace. 
• Experience designing and developing online learning experiences, including courses and programs, in alignment with best practices in online pedagogy and user interface design; knowledge of Quality Matters and American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.   
• Experience designing and developing e-learning infrastructure (e.g., online proctoring, assessment, e-texts, curriculum design, course design tools, quality assurance processes)
• Experience building accessibility into online learning experiences and applying Universal Design for Learning wherever possible. 
• Working knowledge of instructional technology, databases, spreadsheets, web maintenance tools, e-learning and new media tools (e.g. chat, web conferencing, discussion boards, white boards, video and audio plug-ins, Facebook, social bookmaking), and learning management systems (Moodle, others). 
• Ability to represent the School at recruitment and outreach events.
• Ability to develop and maintain expertise in instructional design and development, methodology, techniques, and industry trends. Participate in professional development activities within and outside of LSU. Perform other duties as assigned.
