BASIC FUNCTIONS
The MAPMG Training and Coaching Consultant is responsible for designing, marketing, directing and delivering training programs and coaching interventions to support organizational initiatives and improve MAPMG physician/staff performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conceptualizes, develops, designs, and delivers educational programs (in-person and e-learning).
  • Specifically owns and manages all Clinician-Patient Communication training and development programs and initiatives.
  • Participates in the Inter-regional Clinician-Patient Communication monthly/quarterly meetings.
  • Develops an understanding of the Member-Patient Satisfaction Survey (MPS) and helps to design initiatives that are geared to improve overall scores of the patient and physician relationship or interaction.
  • Support other programs specific to organizational initiatives and departmental/team needs/interests.
  • Develops and implements educational content and training programs that can be used in alternative learning settings i.e. blended and e-learning.
  • Conducts small group facilitation by observing, coaching and providing feedback to physicians and staff.
  • Review and analyze data for trends and issues to develop programs to support educational needs. Conducts specific surveys and needs assessments to determine training needs for physicians.
  • Researches external training programs and products for internal use.
  • Provide individual coaching sessions as indicated to support a physician’s success in the office environment.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required such as education, communication, management development, instructional design, organizational development required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Credentialed as a certified coach.
  • Excellent presentation, coaching and consulting expertise.
  • Advanced skill in both communication and leadership.
  • Must possess strong team building, group interaction, and analytic skill.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and concisely to both individuals and to groups.
  • Ability to interact effectively and comfortably with physicians and various levels of management.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.
  • Must have excellent problem solving, facilitation, and consulting skills.  Experience in creative and innovative instruction design for both in group facilitation and individual coaching.
  • A strong working knowledge of basic software applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and web-based programs are required. Basic skills in creating programs with computer graphics preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must understand the need and have the ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Experience in developing training programs that can be used in alternative learning settings (i.e. blended and e-learning) is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the health care industry is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel to all medical centers within the region.
