General Summary

This position is responsible for the creation, implementation, and monitoring of all ISPE training programs and managing all training products. This position will advance the execution of ISPE’s outreach strategy to educational institutions, pharmaceutical companies, ISPE Affiliates and Chapters to ensure that ISPE’s mission as the worldwide preeminent source of education for pharmaceutical engineers and regulatory agencies.

 

To accomplish this, the Director is responsible for managing the development and global delivery of the Society’s training and online education products and forging strategic partnerships globally with educational institutions and organizations with the goal of integrating ISPE’s program content into the curricula of the respective institutions and organizations.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Drive the creation and maintenance of the business development plan to identify education opportunities in the marketplace to leverage ISPE’s education and training content.
  • Identify, explore or propose potential business opportunities with educational institutions, universities, pharmaceutical companies, ISPE Affiliates and Chapters.
  • Assess potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, contract requirements, market potential, competition,
  • Develop and implement global educational training schedule and oversee scheduling of all training instructors and courses.
  • Manage the global development and delivery of public, on-site and E-training and webinar programs including scheduling, contracting, success metrics and closeout.
  • Utilize competitive analysis, subject matter experts to develop topics using current adult learning theory and use a variety of delivery methods to attain successful transfer of knowledge.
  • Continually monitor programs through attendee evaluations and instructor feedback to maintain and improve product quality and implement plans for improvement.
  • Manage contracts for course development and delivery of face-to-face and technology based training products.
  • Identify potential global course developers and faculty for completion of the instructor qualification process and expand locally based training faculty.
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership input into the development of educational training for ISPE.
  • Develop and implement the annual budget for the training goals set forth in the ISPE Business Plan.
  • Proactively contribute and participate in internal staff and external volunteer discussions involving ISPE educational training efforts.
  • With the Director of Marketing conduct market research and competitor analyses for training products and assist with the development of promotional plans and review marketing materials related to training products and assist with positioning.
  • In the role of staff liaison, committee member and/or task team member complete deliverables according to deadlines set forth in the Business Plan.
  • Collaborate with ISPE COPs, Planning Committee Members and functional leaders across various departments to ensure the appropriate coordination; execution; delivery and outcomes are being met.
  • Create a supportive, respectful, and inspired team dynamic in all interactions with volunteers, subject matter experts and staff.
  • Affiliates and Chapters - Manage the global delivery of licensed training course content including scheduling, contracting, success metrics and closeout.

 

 

Requirements

Education and work experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 10 years of business development and general management preferably in education.
  • Association / not -for-profit a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have demonstrated ability to create and grow educational/training programs.
  • Ability to foster and grow relationships with ISPE employees and volunteers from all levels of the organization.
  • Must have expertise in technical elements of training (design, delivery, measurements, analysis, concepts, and collaborative operating style).
  • Outstanding communications skills and excellent computer skills necessary.
  • Multicultural training experience beneficial.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Experience with associations and volunteers required.
  • Knowledge of international markets preferred.
  • Experience working with technical disciplines preferred but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 35% of the time.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrates professional ethics and demeanor at all times.
  • Professional with excellent verbal and written communication, customer service and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and direct projects to completion within budget and on schedule while interfacing cross functionally.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience working with national and international senior executives, regulators and volunteers.
