Director of Training and Development

We are a rapidly expanding, innovative financial services organization seeking to add a top-flight Director of Learning. This person will be responsible for advancing the Training division by strategizing and developing ways to enhance learning events; create, package, and deliver content; manage the team of instructional designers and trainers; while coordinating with the Marketing, Sales, and Event Management departments. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of corporate information.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and set educational process and standards for the company, including establishing course goals, learning objectives, and evaluation of trainings
  • Identify effective training strategies and determine suitable training method such as live training, webinars, online training, etc.
  • Evaluate IP to ensure consistency and continuity of messaging
  • Access, implement, and manager latest technologies for training and development
  • Develop and document department policies for training and development, content for events, and standard operating procedures
  • Promote knowledge management within the enterprise, including but not limited to systems training, HR training, and compliance training: change management pertaining to system adjustments and corresponding actions to take within other groups within the organization
  • Create content and process of the study system based on the vision and direction of senior management
  • Develop training from SMEs, speakers and Mastermind presenters
  • Create training department KPIs
  • Ensure quality control of content hosted in eLearning system
  • Assist with learning and development on key internal and external processes
  • Create training materials via instructional design process
  • Manage team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Specific Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Organizational Development or Masters of Arts in Education and Adult Education/Training or MBA with concentration in Learning Theory, or MBA in Human Resources
  • CPLP Certification preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in Learning and Development
  • Actively involved in ATD and SHRM preferred
  • 5+ years corporate leadership experience
  • Ability to communicate across divisions and within C-suite
  • Self-educator who is in tune with changing dynamics in the field of learning
  • Must be comfortable with multi-tasking, able to manage multi-step procedures, handle frequent interruptions in work flow and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision -making ability and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Exhibits professionalism and composure in stressful situations and in meeting short deadlines.
  • Ability to think on their feet
