Overview

The eLearning Specialist will be responsible for developing eLearning courses and related materials for staff training programs, technology training programs and other departments’ training programs, as needed. S/He will design, create and implement eLearning solutions that are engaging and uses eLearning authoring tools based on identified needs. S/He will manage and update courses, as applicable, based on evolving needs.



Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops on-demand learning solutions (e.g. eLearning, videos, etc.) that support the Firm’s business needs and strategic initiatives
  • Leads the process of creating eLearning solutions by understanding business requirements, interviewing subject matter experts (SMEs) or stakeholders and identifying ability/knowledge/skill gaps of an identified audience to develop programs and to maintain and curate the content
  • Creates eLearning solutions using adult learning models such as ADDIE or other similar instructional design models. Develops learning objectives, storyboards and/or scripts for technology, professional development, compliance or other topics, as applicable
  • Develops engaging, innovative and relevant learning solutions
  • Creates knowledge-checks, simulations or assessments based on learning and performance objectives using eLearning tools for either staff training, technology training or other business training requests
  • Collaborates virtually with the firmwide staff and technology training teams in other offices; provides input into the firmwide staff training and technology training strategy as determined by the Director to ensure a high quality and consistent approach
  • Guides other members of the staff and technology training teams with developing eLearning solutions and how to use various eLearning authoring tools
  • Uses courseware rapid authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or similar tool. Records and edits audio files and uses Adobe Creative Cloud Apps such as, Illustrator, Photoshop or similar programs to edit graphics
  • Develops simple videos using Camtasia/Articulate and applies SCORM standards
  • Designs and develops eLearning and/or blended solutions, which incorporate SCORM, video or other asynchronous elements
  • Designs and creates visual aesthetics for eLearning programs using the latest in graphic design trends
  • Manages and curates the eLearning programs in the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure that the programs are updated or retired, as necessary
  • Collaborates with the Director, Staff Training Senior Manager and Technology Training Manager to establish effective policies and procedures to guide the development of eLearning
  • Works with the Technology Training Coordinator to enter classes and programs, maintain training data in the firm’s LMS and generate class rosters, reports and forms, as requested
  • Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of the eLearning programs
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest innovations, trends and best-practices in the eLearning and instructional design field
  • Maintains relationships with outside training vendors regarding eLearning development and technologies to bring fresh ideas to team
  • Identifies and recommends improvements to achieve and deliver higher quality eLearning and other learning services for end users
  • Performs other duties, as required

    Education and/or Experience:

    Required:

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience of demonstrated eLearning expertise
    • Ability to review/edit client documents/scripts to make content concise and clear
    • Proficiency in the application of instructional design, curriculum design, adult learning principles and measurement strategies
    • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple stakeholders reviewing, editing and approving work/files
    • Knowledge of how eLearning solutions integrate with a LMS
    • Experience using remote training tools such as WebEx and Adobe Connect
    • Project management experience
    • Advanced knowledge of Windows-based systems, particularly the Windows 10 Operating System and Microsoft Office 2016 suite

    Preferred:

    • Associate/Bachelor's degree
    • Experience in a law office, legal environment or a professional services environment
    • Familiarity with document management systems and other legal applications
