We are seeking a strategic, creative, and dynamic Sales Education & Training Manager to help us achieve our vision.

Position Objective:

Under general guidance, will contribute to the profitability and growth of Ergomotion through the development and implementation of training strategies, plans, programs and processes to support Ergomotion’s business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Adult Learning Expert: Stay apprised of changes in market, solutions, and training methodologies. Develop new and/or revamp existing training approaches to ensure sales readiness. Identify, implement, and maintain "best practices" when establishing training models and technologies that will result in new and innovative training approaches.
  2. Develop, implement and oversee an Retail Sales Associate (RSA) training program that increases customer attachment rates and provides an agreed upon ROI. Oversee content development, delivery modalities, effectiveness measurements, and competency testing.
  3. Design training strategies and programs focused on immediate applicability: Focus on driving business goals and initiatives. Ensure both vertical and horizontal solutions are connected at every opportunity. Drives a common language, approach, and level of competency across all sales connections.
  4. Partner with Sales and Marketing leadership: ensuring timely, targeted, impactful training programs are aligned with sales and business goals and attuned to the voice of our customers.
  5. Ensure adjacent disciplines (e.g. Marketing, Product, Customer Service) are trained in foundational sales programs to ensure 1) common approach in developing sales training and resources and, 2) continuity of customer experience.
  6. Identify the most efficient distance/virtual learning approaches and cadence, measures effectiveness and integration of new skills and knowledge.
  7. Develop, implement and facilitate training workshops as required for National Sales Meetings and other meetings that may be necessary as determined by the commercial teams.
  8. Develop and present effective sales training methods, techniques and ideas for all new product launches.
  9. Co-travel with new and current Sales, Training and Product personnel to assess, coach and develop their level of product knowledge and skills related to the acquisition of new business and growth of existing business.
  10. Create a measurement strategy and sustainability process before and after the launch of training programs and initiatives.
  11. Analyze sales metrics, NPS (Net Promotor Score) and related data to determine trends, then create and execute on strategic training plans to improve sales performance.
  12. Create an engaging sales learning environment by developing & delivering dynamic trainings via live or recorded webinars, small group settings and through other available media options.


Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 10+ years’ progressive experience in adult learning and development including 5+ years in a management role with direct supervision of multiple employees; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Furniture sales experience preferred.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies: deliver the right content to the right audience at the right time.
  • Skill in managing a function with multiple employees.
  • Skill in creating and delivering effective live training from a stage or via webinars or other electronic medium.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong communication, leadership, analytical, critical thinking, reasoning, problem-solving, organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to proficiently utilize multimedia authoring tools, such as Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, etc. is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to proficiently utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to create and present training materials and to measure effectiveness.
  • Ability to deliver high value technical content that is sales consumable. 
  • Ability to understand strategic direction and goals of the Sales organization and to create training education and development programs to facilitate achievement of those goals.
  • Ability to work with raw data and numbers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain moderately complex documentation systems.
  • Ability to interface with many levels of employees of various disciplines and departments
  • Ability to translate concepts, summarize and communicate complex ideas, and clearly articulate business value with a good sense of how sales professionals think, operate, and absorb training. Ability to drive and sit in a plane or a car for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work extended hours including occasional nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to meet qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically up to 70% of working time (U.S. and China).
  • Ability to work in a dog friendly environment.
