Graduate School USA is currently seeking a part-time Faculty Liaison to be responsible for building and maintaining relationships between GSUSA and our instructors. An integral part of this role is following GSUSA requirements and enabling faculty to perform in ways that benefit GSUSA. The Faculty Liaison will be the point of contact for instructors and focus on increasing faculty engagement through close collaboration and communication with instructors. The individual will serve as liaison for a diverse pool of government training instructors. Major duties will be to coordinate annual scheduling and review, as well as hiring needs and course approvals.
Position requires effective communication and promotion of targeted curriculum and customized solutions with federal agency staff and senior executives externally. It also means working with GS staff and instructors internally to ensure delivery on the identified learning needs. The Faculty Liaison works with Curriculum, Business Development, Proposals, Office of Human Capital Management, Training & Program Management, and other unit staff in coordinating instructor recruitment.
• Serves as liaison and point of contact for all instructors with Curriculum Products and Services Department.
• Responsible for building the instructor pool, especially in DC, and is the central point of contact on instructor feedback and compliant resolution for courses.
• Drives instructor guidelines, implementation, updates, and oversees the instructor feedback processes. • Monitor the quality, consistency, and curricular alignment of our faculty to the courses being offered. • Responsive to faculty needs, will handle concerns and/or recommendations and bring them first to the attention of the VP, Curriculum Products and Services, and as appropriate to the HR Director, Director of Training Management, or other leadership.
• Partners with Office of Human Capital Management to coordinate, update, and implement the GSUSA Instructor Handbook.
• Supports internal committees and is part of the Faculty Advisory Council.
• Coordinates with Office of Human Capital Management (OHCM) for new hire paperwork in a timely manner.
• Coordinates annual instructor scheduling and review with team; Evaluates identified hiring needs and course approvals.
• Participates in marketing, conference, business development, and networking events as assigned.
• With leadership, develop and manage data requirements for the organization.
• Ensures that instructor electronic and hard copy files are current and complete.
• Has consistent oral and written communication with faculty on policies and the school.
• Responds to all instructors and business development requests in a timely manner.
• Ensures that that the required instructor evaluations are submitted, reviewed, and any problems identified are promptly addressed.
• Reviews website for instructor applicants and responds appropriately.
• Maintains affirmative relationship with instructors.
• Maintains approved instructor list with pay rates, contact information and employment status, e.g., contractor, part-time, independent contractor.
• Makes regular email contact with VP Curriculum Products and Services at least twice per month or more frequently is needed, especially at the beginning.
• Ensures instructors receive training and tracks all results.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Strong PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Access and Excel
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• In-depth understanding of the curriculum areas and how they fit into both Open Enrollment and Contract solutions.
• Ability to interact with all levels with tact and diplomacy
• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Ability to solve problems to ensure a seamless customer experience
• Ability to generate effective, basic, business correspondence, emails, newsletters, etc.
• Good organization skills and the ability to multi-task
• Exposure to learning management systems (LMS), i.e., Blackboard, Desire to Learn (D2L), Canvas, and other industry standard student registration systems and SharePoint a plus.
• Exposure to curriculum development processes
• SharePoint a plus
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, master’s preferred.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in a college, university or other education/training organization
• Experience teaching in adult education
• Experience collecting, managing, and maintaining data
• Experience working/teaching in the federal government and dealing with government officials
• Human resources experience helpful
