Who we are looking for:

A highly skilled Instructional Design Manager to join the Digital Education Division of ASCO’s Education, Science and Professional Development department. The selected candidate will assist the Division Director and members of the Digital Education Division in the programmatic development of digital education products that support independent and blended learning, and continuous professional development.

 

What you will do:

  • Manage the content development and deployment of new innovative educational products that incorporate techniques and approaches that are grounded in evidence-based education principles
  • Apply principles of learning science and instructional design to guide planning groups, course faculty, and other subject matter experts as they develop individual educational programs/courses designed to address areas of identified need within the field of oncology
  • Effectively operate within a team environment to share instructional design best practices, and enlist the support of others to achieve programmatic goals
  • Supervise and mentor staff, coaching them in talent development, ASCO competencies, goal setting, project and time management, prioritization, product development, timeline adherence, and application of learning science methodologies
  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal customers as well as professional members and non-members in all interactions including individual communications in person, by telephone and email, at the committee/editorial board level, and through provision of meaningful programs

 

What you will need in order to be successful:

  • Master’s degree in instructional design or adult education required
  • Three to five years of experience working with professional level educational content and applying principles of instructional design to create activities
  • Prior experience supervising, coaching and mentoring staff
  • Skilled in Microsoft Windows applications and comfortable learning new technology
  • Proficient in the use and evaluation of technology software and platforms for the production of education products
  • Customer service oriented and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment that requires juggling multiple priorities and high work volume
  • Commitment to work within a team to meet timelines and deliverables
  • Strong critical thinking with ability to use good judgment
