We implement innovative organizational development solutions, focusing on change management, specialized consulting, training and facilitation (including eLearning strategy consulting) and customized courseware design. Just as Maher’s subject matter expertise is organized into government and communications sectors, we organize our services in two primary areas: - Consulting Services: focus on business services integration, process improvement and change management interventions that help clients design new initiatives, processes and solutions; cope with change; and align resources with organizational goals. - Training and Learning Solutions: offers training products and services, including custom design, soft skills programs in leadership, management, sales, customer satisfaction and value, and the development of customized instructor-led and e-learning solutions.

Job Summary:

The Instructional Designer/Trainer is responsible for designing and developing effective and engaging instructional materials for in-person or virtual classrooms, self-directed, web-based, and/or blended learning platforms. The Instructional Designer will be tasked with performing needs analysis, research, and curriculum design work consistent with sound instructional design methodologies while embracing the science of modern learning.  In some cases, this would be with minimal supervision. The Instructional Designer must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and excel at time management to meet aggressive deadlines.

This position could be based in our corporate headquarters in Neptune, New Jersey or remote should the candidate present a strong self-management capacity and proven successful history of working from home.

Requirements

Education:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, or Higher Education with proven adult learning solution work experience.  Master’s degree is highly preferred.

Experience:

·         5 years producing high quality instructional materials in deadline oriented environment.

·         2 to 3 years managing instructional projects.

·         Work samples as well as references from past employers will be required.

Skills:

·         Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, human behavior and performance, methods for curriculum and training design, and the measurement of training effectiveness.

·         Strong awareness of the science of “modern learners” and ability to adapt traditional learning design and approaches to the demands of today’s adult learners.

·         Utilize a broad range of interactive, creative and intuitive instructional methods, including but not limited to story-telling, simulations, games, on-the-job learning, peer and social learning, hands-on activities, interactive case studies, and assessments.

·         Design and develop learning materials— using e-Learning development software—Articulate Storyline 360, RISE, etc., Adobe Captivate 8 or higher, Connect, Presenter, HTML, video software, and other authoring tools, virtual classroom, and web conferencing software, etc. as well as workshop solutions inclusive of Facilitator Guides, Participant Guides, and PowerPoint, and performance support such as Quick Reference Guides, Job Aids, and Infographics.

·         Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to support instructional design as well as other initiatives and communication within Maher.

·         Knowledge and practical application of Modern Learning strategies, Gagne’s Conditions of Learning/Nine Events of Instruction, Keller’s ARCS Model of Motivation, Kirkpatrick’s Levels of Evaluation, and Bloom’s Taxonomy.

·         Experience analyzing source content, target audience demographics, job tasks, and learner environment to identify learning objectives and appropriate instructional strategies.

·         Organize, perform, and oversee Quality Assurance of final materials to ensure solutions meet the targeted objectives and performance outcomes.

·         Explore and provide recommendations on how to best utilize latest e-Learning methodologies, technologies, and trends.

·         Highly effective time and project management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and implement multiple projects.  Understanding of agile workflows is a plus.

·         Ability to work independently as well as leverage online collaborative and communication tools such as Skype for Business and Zoon to lead and contribute to virtual teams.
