Salary Range: $55,132.07 - $68,915.09 Salary/year

Design, develop, and deliver educational programs and content for the Credit Union. Utilizes instructional design knowledge to provide innovative learning solutions. Collaborates with subject matter experts and department leadership to develop relevant, performance/skill enhancing training.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Conducts and analyzes training needs assessments following conventional instructional design methodologies. Interviews business owners, business analysts, system developers, and other functional and technical personnel as part of the needs assessment.
  2. Determines and documents the appropriate instructional strategy and project scope based on a completed needs assessment. Designs effective instructional materials, interactions, simulations and assessments to support the required instructional strategy.
  3. Develops scalable, sustainable learning programs and training content for varied delivery methods.
  4. Partners with department leadership, stakeholders, and power users to identify key functional area processes and business requirements.
  5. Continually develops knowledge and expertise of assigned products, programs, processes, and procedures.
  6. Follows systematic training and project management methodologies. Takes ownership of expected, timelines, deliverables, and learning outcomes.
  7. Applies learning best practices to design, develop and maintain appropriate training materials and documentation procedures using standardized tools and templates.
  8. Creates, develops and maintains quick reference guides, presentations, and training videos.
  9. Designs and develops criterion-based training assessments. Assesses feedback from learners to evaluate and improve effectiveness of training.
  10. Seeks ways to streamline work processes and continuously improve the Credit Union.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Interpersonal Contacts

Frequent contact with employees and managers. Occasional contact with benefit providers.


Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Minimum three years’ experience developing and facilitating job-based systems training and learning content. CPLP Certification preferred. Financial experience desirable.


Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities

  1. Thorough knowledge of instructional design principles, methodologies, and adult educational concepts.
  2. Knowledge of information design and mapping concepts.
  3. Ability to independently analyze and problem solve.
  4. Experience effectively writing/creating multiple, complex training programs for a variety of learning delivery methods.
  5. Experience delivering training content at cross functional levels.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, subject matter experts, leadership and employees.
  7. Experience evaluating course content and feedback. Knowledge of assessment techniques.
  8. Ability to quickly digest and disseminate new information.
  9. Extensive experience using eLearning development tools, graphic design tools, authoring tools, and audio applications.
  10. Outstanding time management and project management skills.
  11. Ability to meet tight deadlines and remain flexible as priorities shift.
  12. Excellent communication and content delivery abilities. Superior writing and editing ability.
