Position Summary: 

Partners and collaborates with business clients, vendors, and others to design and develop high quality technical learning curricula and associated training materials utilizing best practices (e.g., ADDIE Model, Kirkpatrick, etc.) that support business goals and objectives. Responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of training materials spanning a broad spectrum of delivery methods such as print-based job aides and manuals, eLearning elements, animated video, web-based and blended learning solutions.

This position requires a seasoned and experienced individual with adequate understanding of own job area.  Work is performed independently and under limited supervision.  Determines approach to work and is supervised based on milestones and at key deliverable junctures.  Work is reviewed for overall accuracy and soundness of judgement.  Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.  Frequently applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop engaging, content-specific, competency-based training materials using rapid eLearning authoring tools such as Captivate, Articulate, Storyline, and Flash, etc. to deliver interactive web based training products. 
  • Design, review, and validate course content and curriculum.
  • Partner with subject matter experts or project sponsors to develop, maintain, and revise internal content and curriculum. 
  • Develop content flow, logic and technical storyboards.
  • Manage multiple projects within the Learning & Development team.  Create and administer multiple project timelines. Track training development tasks and advise more senior professionals or department management of progress.
  • Develop print-based training materials including but not limited to user guides and work instructions using company supported software.
  • Develop presentation materials using Microsoft Office PowerPoint.
  • Write and edit audio voice-over scripts for e-learning.
  • Design and develop custom graphics, illustrations and animations that facilitate knowledge retention and transfer.
  • Apply instructional strategies according to the intended behavioral outcomes. 
  • Document each project's instructional, visual and technical design strategy according to the established process.
  • Originate recommendations on new ways to make courses and instructional design more efficient and effective.
  • Monitor daily activity and project status to ensure timely and effective delivery of training.
  • Determine requirements and quality standards for materials.
  • Partner with LMS Administrator to input new and maintain current curriculum information.
  • Apply knowledge of current industry trends and best practices.
  • Deliver training programs which may include instructor-led, virtual class, web-cast, or web-based methodologies, designing and developing dynamic instructional interactions and simulations to create interactive, engaging course content.



Minimum Education & Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree.  In lieu of a degree, six (6) years’ directly related experience will be considered.
  • Two (2) years directly related experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to solve a range of straightforward problems.  Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Break down problems into smaller components; understand the underlying issues; understand the difference between critical details and less relevant facts.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks, respond well to changing priorities, pay attention to detail and demonstrate quality time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions that support and align with the Company's overall goals and objectives.


Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary to light work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer.
  • Ability to view computer screen, sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a copy machine, fax machine, calculator, telephone and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Working Conditions: 

  • Ability to produce quality work in fast paced environment with high daily pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether cubicle, open office or private office.
  • Subject to normal office noise levels.
