Instructional Designer, Training and Procedures 

Primary Location: United States – Florida



Position Summary

This is a newly created position being established to support the development of processes, systems and tools to drive consistency in onboarding, initial and recurring technical/skills training, resulting in exceptional operational execution in the Signature Flight Support global field network. 


Ensure executional excellence associated with the planning and execution of policies and procedures, and the design and development of training programs to meet specified requirements within the scope, quality, time, and cost parameters. This role includes responsibility of design, delivery and loading of course content in the LMS.





  • Participate as Training and Procedures staff member to design, develop, and execute policies and programs to improve operational safety and service performance, and ensure organizational compliance with applicable regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Create online learning modules and live web-based training sessions, instructor-led training, facilitator guides, and supporting materials following an instructional design process.
  • Support the development and implementation of a revised Training and Procedures holistic operating model within Signature Flight Support
  • Develop and coordinate various programs and systems essential to operational effectiveness and consistent performance, including an appropriate mix of leveraging established best practices as well as new and innovative methods
  • Drive consistency and improvement in training and procedures processes for all Signature field team members
  • Liaise with IT department to define future hardware and software needs to support and sustain improvements leveraging technology to enhance training capabilities
  • Advocate for and operationalize our electronic Learning Management Systems, including development, administration and innovations related to the programs and their application towards improving operational execution



  • Development of procedures, policies, programs and management plans to achieve business goals related to safety performance
  • Establish strong safety culture by reviewing audits findings and training records, conducting employee meetings, communicating expectations and conducting inspections during base visits
  • Coordinate with Operations Analysis team to analyze safety data to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes with a primary focus on improving outcomes
  • Collaborate with Field Ops and others to conduct post-incident reviews and apply learnings as necessary to improve outcomes
  • Incident investigation and review, working with HSE to assess root causes of reportable hazards, near misses and incidents to improve Training and Procedures programs to continuously improve organizational safety performance with a goal of zero preventable incidents and injuries



  • Establish a culture of employee engagement from day one via consistent excellence in training and development to improve customer experience and loyalty
  • Effectively and professionally represent the business in formal and informal presentations to external stakeholders, team members and BBA Aviation/Signature management
  • Analyze customer and team member feedback to constantly develop and improve capabilities and processes related to training and procedures
  • Design processes for incorporation of top customer concerns and value drivers into Training and Procedures programs to create focus and priority in content and delivery


Responsibility and Integrity

  • Create new employee on-boarding processes to shrink the time-to-proficiency 
  • Ensure all new employees are trained in all areas of compliance, health and safety, and general standard operating procedures and can perform all requirements of their assigned role in a safe and compliant manner
  • Support all training design and development functions to ensure appropriate decision support and accountability in the field 



  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Education or Instructional Design and Technology. Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing and deploying technical/procedures-related training and education, utilizing tools such Adobe Captivate, Lectora, Articulate Storyline (or Rise 360), Camtasia
  • Skills in multimedia curriculum development
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and instructional design principles
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and visual communication skills to bring together text, images, video and audio to communicate and educate our employees
  • Hands-on expertise developing effective training programs within a geographically disparate organization, preferably in high-end hospitality, services, retail, or aviation-related industries
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while still providing high-quality, graphic and instructional design deliverables
  • Deep familiarity with deployment of e-Learning, virtual classroom, and/or other contemporary means of content delivery, including game-based learning
  • Understanding of a project life cycle methodology
