GROWMARK, Inc. is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Training & Development team as a Field, Trainer!

Who you Are:

You have a passion towards team leadership training and coaching, as well as dedication to the contribution of overall strategic goals for the department. You will determine the leadership and sales needs of your audience, work with instructional designer to help develop content for programs (A significant amount of content has already been developed), design hands-on programs to meet those needs, and deliver internal training courses for sales and people in leadership roles inside the System (primarily Iowa).  Your role will significantly impact the success of the System as we continue to grow and develop our leaders and sales individuals.

Ultimately, you will design, facilitate and monitor an engaging and awesome Sales focused program.

What you’ll Do:

·         Deliver sales and leadership training in a classroom setting

·         Be seen as an outstanding facilitator utilizing best practices in regards to classroom facilitation

·         Keep up to date on industry best practices

·         Design and develop curriculum to fit the sales leadership needs of the sales group

·         Take creative ownership and be able to understand and work with the employee base to design and deliver appropriate content

·         Create a community of practice, helping grow internal knowledge and create a self-organizing learning culture around sales best practices

·         Conduct 1:1 and team coaching sessions

·         Facilitate knowledge development and re-use across the System

·         Collaborate with others from across the company to define, present, and/or promote enterprise-wide sales and leadership training initiatives

·         Remove barriers to learning

·         Assist with other leadership/employee development programs when needed

·         Foster and build our learning and teaching culture

·         Be an awesome team member

 

Responsible for designing, developing and delivering training programs, materials and activities for member cooperatives and retail divisions to develop sales, leadership employee training programs within the assigned region/area.  Primary focus is on sales training and leadership development within the framework of the System competency model and to serve as a training consultant to help Members/Retail solve specific organizational needs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Leads initiatives to train and develop sales and marketing staff, leadership and manager staff of Retail and Member Cooperatives.  Consults with the management teams to define training requirements and determine timelines for implementation.  Conducts needs assessments throughout the year with each member cooperative/retail management team in their designated region(s) to identify training/development needs and plan for short and long term program requirements.

 

Facilitates or co-facilitates all sales training, leadership training and employee training in designated area and provide back-up support for other sales trainers throughout the System.  Supports the development, implementation, and assessment of learning technology training materials.  Uses current technologies in performing job functions. 

Work with Manager – (Training and Development) on General Manager training for Member/Retail operations.

Administers and coordinates the sales certification and testing programs for GROWMARK, Member Cooperatives, Retail Divisions and GFS/Seedway and Lubes Group.

Coordinates follow‑up and evaluations with employees to assure new skills and techniques have successfully been implemented on the job (after a training session).  Works directly with member and retail division HR managers to assess, deliver and ensure implementation of knowledge and skills.

May facilitate GMK Conference programs created by the Training Department. 

Provides educational leadership to Retail and Member Cooperatives in assigned territory.

Work with managers and staff as a consultant to help resolve organizational issues that relate to sales and leadership development/training.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides input for the Training and Development budget and administers area within budget parameters.

Advise and consult on program creation requested by GROWMARK product divisions and member managements that are supported by Training and Development.

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Normally requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or Business related

discipline, or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of System sales experience or other sales related experience (B2B, insurance, real estate, financial services).

Must have experience training adults in a learning environment as a facilitator or in a training capacity.  Proven understanding and experience in adult learning program development along with ability to utilize techniques in assessing adult learning program effectiveness.

Requires an understanding and proven experience in planning, developing, presenting, assessing training activities and programs, instructional design, needs analysis, content development, technological proficiency, cultural awareness, negotiation, financial statements, innovation, marketing, and consulting.

Normally requires a certificate / certification in appropriate ASTD, SHRM, or other nationally recognized coursework to demonstrate advanced training or human resource knowledge.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

Necessary to spend several nights on the road during peak training time.  Will require travel to Canada and coordination of potential events/training in territory with other Members

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Must have and maintain a valid Passport.

Must have the ability to travel independently, frequently, and overnight as necessary including air travel and long car rides (5+ hours)

Frequently required to work extended hours during busy training season.

Occasionally required to work at varying heights.

Must be willing to work with other Divisions and across Divisions on important training iniatives

Frequently required to lift and move 21-50 lbs.

Prefer an understanding of GROWMARK members and retail divisions.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
