Customer Care is tasked with growing the Trade side of the business by following promotional direction and generating Trade passenger sales through multiple sales channels; retail travel sellers (primary channel), group sales, and e-sales. The Customer Care division includes all business units that interact directly with the customer’s travel agent to sell GVI products, answer inquiries, and resolve problems. The departments under Customer Care are Customer Care Assistance Desk (CCAD), Diamonds, E-Sales & Service (ESAS), Trade Groups, Training, Travel Agent Sales & Service (TASS), and Traveler Services.



The Learning & Development Manager manages the design of training programs for associates. This includes classroom training and online courses. The Learning & Development Manager advises training and optimizes training programs by assessing the job performance and skill proficiency of learners.



  • Evaluate current company training program and develop a plan for streamlining content for an onboarding strategy for call center based associates in a remote environment.
  • Partner with leadership team in Customer Care and Customer Sales to determine best onboarding plan for new associates to ensure maximum success and the subsequent levels of training needed to continue forward in their knowledge base.
  • Review Learning Management System (LMS) technology, making recommendations for LMS for the company that best fit content and training.
  • Develop and own the company’s LMS launch strategy for purchase, build out and ongoing content releases and development.
  • Working with subject matter experts/stakeholders and other personnel in identifying and developing course content and learning needs within required timeframes.
  • Work with the Trainer to design, build, and maintain web-based, multi-media eLearning modules in LMS.
  • Integrate emerging instructional design methods and technologies into eLearning modules, with testing and knowledge comprehension benchmarks for new associates and ongoing training.
  • Develop ways to deliver yearly product launch content to internal and external associates.
  • Develop and deliver instructor led (live on line) courses as needed including workshops related to LMS capabilities for a variety of audiences.
  • Design and implement evaluation strategies for measuring the success of training programs.
  • Track employee performance and measures training outcomes.
  • Maintain communication with training stakeholders and building collaborative partnerships with internal customers.
  • Maintain records related to training by associate and report to supervisors/managers.
  • Conduct periodic review of existing courses to ensure content is relevant and accurate.



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, with a focus in multimedia design, graphic design, instructional design, or related field in learning and development
  • Masters in Instructional Design or 3-5 years’ meaningful experience in eLearning Instructional Design (ID) preferred
  • ATD E-learning Instructional Design Certificate preferred



  • Previous leadership experience, coaching and developing a high performance team.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the successful design and creation of corporate eLearning programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in building out an E Learning platform from the ground up
  • Experience in curriculum design
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, acknowledging urgency when necessary
  • Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, CSS) and E-learning development software and other authoring tools
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and evaluation methods
  • Working knowledge of learning and development trends and compliance requirements
  • Ability to craft and maintain multiple courses at a time



  • Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook
  • Experience using an LMS is required,
  • High degree of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is required – Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier
  • Knowledge of E Learning Software and ability to recommend and implement

Fiscal Responsibility

  • Develops annual budget for area of responsibility
  • Monitors performance to budget & participates in quarterly re-forecasting
  • Controls costs (i.e. schedule adherence for o/t; absorptions; personal travel expenses; supply ordering)
  • Is timely in all reporting required (expense reports, accounts payable, monthly variance reporting)



While performing this job, it will require: Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
