JOB PURPOSE

Designs learning events for delivery to diverse audiences, from front-line associates to front-line managers, via a variety of delivery methods. Consults with subject matter experts to coordinate and/or create learning content and educational programs. Adeptly applies instructional design, content management, and evaluation methodologies. Participates in learning-related projects and initiatives. Areas of expertise may include one or more of the following: products, deposit, lending, customer service, advisory sales, regulatory compliance and/or systems. May deliver training as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Designs e-learning, virtual learning, and instructor-led events using a variety of software, tools, and equipment.
•    Produces and/or enhances all aspects of learning and development curriculum, including facilitator’s guide/scripting, participant’s workbook, job aids, methods of evaluation, etc.
•    Uses instructional design methodology, including consultations with SMEs, to assess learning and development needs.
•    May deliver a variety of learning and development events and programs.
•    Performs various tasks associated with learning and development projects and initiatives.
•    Use of the Learning Management System (LMS) to schedule and coordinate educational events, access training records, and manage content.
•    Stays current on bank policies, procedures, processes, systems, and regulatory compliance requirements to ensure content accuracy.
•    Keeps abreast of learning and development trends to ensure content incorporates best practices with an emphasis on skills application, associate engagement, and new technologies.
•    Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
•    Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
•    Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
•    May be asked to mentor or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
•    Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.
•    Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

•    May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/certification preferred.
•    3-5 years of curriculum development of a variety of educational programs for diverse audiences, preferably in a financial institution.
•    Experience with classroom, webinar, and virtual learning curriculum development.
•    Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
•    Proficient interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization.
•    Project participation, time management, organization, and multi-tasking abilities with the flexibility to manage conflicting priorities and frequent change.
•    Instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Rapid).
•    Virtual design and delivery software (e.g., WebEx, Live Meeting, Go to Meeting).
•    Elearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, video).
•    Proficient in the use of Learning Management System platforms, Microsoft Office suite, and project management tools.
•    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.


PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

•    Office environment – no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.
•    Occasional travel.
