Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD) seeks a Learning and Development Program Manager (LDPM) to help lead the transformation of our corporate training initiatives.  Projects are diverse, including revamping New Employee Orientation, pioneering Leadership Development, and initiating blended learning programs.  The LDPM is responsible for managing professional development initiatives in accordance with best practices and strategic organizational goals. The right person will be able to partner with cross functional leaders and the HR team to develop and implement effective organizational development and change management solutions.

General Summary:

The Learning and Development Program Manager (LDPM) is responsible for developing and managing the Learning & Development (L&D) function at CHKD.  Works as strategic partner with leaders, employees, and vendors to design, build, and sustain the related infrastructure, programs, processes, systems, and relationships for successful corporate learning.  This position assesses companywide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. Secures organizational support to ensure that organization-wide and departmental-specific learning goals are met through processes, programs, and products, and inspiring a shared sense of purpose regarding L&D.   The LDPM is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders to ensure the learning and performance solutions created are impactful and engaging, and are aligned with organizational and departmental priorities. This role will oversee the consistent design, development, implementation and evaluation across all delivered learning and performance solutions.

 

Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Education, or related field.
  • Seven years of instructional design or training and development experience, to include working closely with subject matter experts, internal project teams, and external resources to develop training strategies and solutions.
  • Successful experience designing and delivering blended learning programs; both as instructional designer and as project manager with external vendors and internal SMEs
  • Five years of effectively leading the building and delivery of complex, creative, and engaging training programs for an adult audience, in a variety of formats and media as well as storyboarding and user guides.
  • Demonstrated ability to:

o    Interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

o    Provide excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.

o    Effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage time.

o    Analyze information, problems, issues, situations and procedures to develop effective solutions.

o    Exercise strict confidentiality in all matters.

o    Actively listen with excellent interpersonal communication skills to identify critical core competencies based on success factors and organizational environment.

o    Provide accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with constant interruptions.

o    Build bridges and create partnerships amongst business units and HR team.

o    Manage multiple projects at once, focused on accuracy and results.

o    Converse and work with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong project management, organizational and follow-up skills. 
  • Successful experience as LCMS administrator required; experience selecting, customizing, and implementing an LCMS preferred.
  • Highly developed leadership skills, advanced consulting skills and superior ability to build relationships, influence and gain commitment of associates at all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and to plan, organize and set/achieve priorities when performing work.
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, implement, monitor and evaluate).
  • Strong instructional design capability, including need assessment, program design and development, and evaluation.
  • Ability to create structure around ambiguous assignments and manage complexity in terms of the work and stakeholders to deliver results in a compressed time frame effectively and see that action items are completed in a timely manner.
  • Strong problem-solving and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to effectively balance competing priorities to fulfill all stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships and work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to engage and negotiate with third party vendors to procure the best business conditions and results for the company.
  • Strong communications skills; superior editing, writing, and critical reasoning skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills. 
  • Proficiency with Instructional Systems Design tools such as Captivate, Articulate, Lectora, Camtasia, etc.
