As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. The ideal candidate will: * Be passionate about providing support for state-of-the-art implantable medical devices * Be energized by working for a world-class manufacturer and collaborating on cross-functional teams * Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships Responsibilities include: * Conducting a needs assessment * Identifying and describing target population characteristics and performance needs * Analyzing the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their use in an instructional environment * Using ADDIE and principals of adult learning to create an innovative combination of learning events ranging from ILT to distance learning to performance support * Selecting and using a variety of techniques to define and sequence the instructional content and strategies * Creatively designing and developing training curricula for a variety of delivery methods using adult learning methodologies and principles of instructional design * Designing instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners * Applying current research and theory to the practice of instructional design * Developing instructional materials * Selecting or modify existing instructional materials * Implementing a curriculum or program * Evaluating and assessing instruction and its impact * Reflecting upon the elements of a situation before finalizing design solutions and strategies * Promoting collaboration, partnerships and relationships among the participants in a design project Required Job Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or Psychology * Minimum of five years experience with adult learning (classroom, virtual, and blended modalities) * Expertise in instructional design, change management, or organizational development * Strong internal consulting skills, including conducting needs assessments, contracting, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and measuring results * Strong project-management skills * Superior platform-delivery and group-facilitation skills * Strong interpersonal skills to effectively integrate and influence across functions * Other skills required: * Microsoft Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint * Email (distribution lists, attachments, calendar management) * Authoring Tools (Lectora, Articulate, etc.) * Publishing/Layout Tools (Pagemaker, InDesign, etc.) * Video or Simulation Authoring Tools (Camtasia, Captivate, etc.) * Proven effectiveness as a business partner and team player * Flexible and open to change * Ability to: * Develop and implement a training-and-development plan that drives measurable business results * Work effectively independently and in a team environment * Travel to Flagstaff 10-15% Desired Job Qualifications: * Experience in a sales and/or marketing environment * Experience designing e-learning * Experience with current and emerging adult learning theory and how it is put into practice in corporate learning * Identify methods to improve productivity and optimization of the LMS Gore is committed to a drug-free workplace.
