The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist plays a key role in the implementation and execution of corporate learning and development and onboarding programs, as well as administrative and planning tasks related to these functions. The successful candidate should have some facilitation and design experience.

The L&D Specialist will support the L&D Manager in meeting the Learning & Development goals for the organization to develop and retain top talent. The L&D Specialist will work across the entire organization to facilitate assigned Learning & Development programs and services including professional and leadership development, program management for our interactive on-boarding program, growth program for leaders, facilitation of team learning sessions and development of curriculum and learning material. The incumbent must foster cross-functional relationships effectively with business partners in employee services and embody our shared value of One Team.  

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Consult with department leaders to assess training needs and match the need with appropriate solutions.

  • Conduct needs assessments to determine training focus and scope for team development requests and needs.

  • Design and develop effective and engaging curriculum and learning activities.

  • Build and cultivate relationships with People and Culture Business Partners to meet Learning & Development needs across the organization.

  • Facilitate and evaluate training programs on topics such as communication, supervisor basics, performance management for example, as well as new hire orientation.

  • Ensure training content is consistently updated and improved.

  • Maintain online Learning & Development intranet page.

  • Support performance management and review process education and support for supervisors and employees.

  • Develop L&D metrics and present on findings as it relates to growth and learning goals as well as meeting L&D objectives for the organization.

  • Continually evaluates training progress and training procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and recommend updates to curriculum as needed.

  • Manage L&D projects including Onboarding and Development Programs for leaders.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s in human resources or a related field preferred or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years-experience in facilitating, coaching, and instructional design preferred.

  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and its application in face-to-face and e-learning trainings.

  • Demonstrated understanding of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Excellent professional communication skills (both verbal and written) via phone, email and in person.

  • Project management skills required.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once, navigate dependencies, bring all work to completion on schedule, and successfully coordinate and prioritize. 

  • Computer and technology skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Intermediate Excel skills required.

  • Approachable with employees and management.
