Job Title:  L&D Sr. Consultant 

CNA has an opening for a Senior Learning & Development Consultant.  This position will be responsible for the design, development and execution of learning solutions in one or more of our key focus areas: Onboarding Programs, Employee Development, Leadership Development and/or Sales Development.  As part of the Human Resources organization, this person will work closely with our home office and field organization leaders and others to identify development needs and execute on learning strategies. Our ideal candidate is a well-rounded L& D professional that is skilled and knowledgeable in a variety of areas; strong instructional design, project management, communications skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple key stakeholders are essential.   

Job Summary

The L&D Sr Consultant works with HRBPs and business leaders to deliver performance and learning solutions to improve business results for assigned business partner(s).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

1. Work closely with stakeholders to complete a thorough needs analysis to identify core skills needed across business groups, roles and levels

2. Design comprehensive, modern, blended curricula to provide development on the needed skills

3. Work with internal and external business partners to generate solutions and plan/implement those solutions

4. Use strong project management practices to set strategy and budget for multi-work stream projects; plan, develop and implement learning solutions; keep stakeholders engaged and informed

5. Develop training program content, exercises, case scenarios, leader and participant materials, eLearning, job aids and other instructional items

6. Identify, create and deploy comprehensive communication, reinforcement & support plans

7. Understand current and future business environment and issues in order to develop and recommend the most cost-effective and impactful solutions

8. Track program participant progress and available metrics in order to measure results and continually enhance offerings

9. Prepare and give presentations to management or appropriate individuals on project status and results

10. Provide consulting, development, project and/or delivery support for regional or national meetings

May perform additional duties as assigned

 

Reporting Relationship

Typically Director or above

 

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities 

• Strong knowledge of learning design, instructional methods and training techniques including curriculum design principles, adult learning and blended learning theory and strategies

• Significant experience in end-to-end learning project management and project leadership skills, including detailed project planning and execution

• Knowledge of various learning technologies including Learning & Content Management Systems, eLearning tools, mobile enabled learning, and virtual training (distance learning) platforms (Skype for Business)

• Solid business acumen, knowledge of the business and client group, and the ability to effectively implement L&D strategies to support business goals  

• Highly collaborative and comfortable navigating organizational dynamics   

• Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a fast-paced and challenging environment

• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills

• Ability to exercise independent judgement and to make critical business decisions effectively

• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills both verbal and written

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software

 

 

 

Requirements

 

Education & Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree in related field, or equivalent with professional designation preferred. 

2. Typically a minimum of eight years educational design/development and training experience with strong focus on instructional design.
