We currently have an outstanding opportunity for a Learning and Development (L&D) Talent Manager to join the Learning and Development team in our New York office.


We’re looking to grow our team with highly motivated and energetic people who have the right balance of skills and personality that will help bring ASME learning offerings up and over the high bar we’re setting for ourselves.


At ASME, a Learning and Development Talent Manager is responsible for discovery, sourcing, vetting, and onboarding new contract resources for L&D while maintaining external relationships with in a robust portfolio of L&D talent, including Instructors, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), volunteers, course developers, contractors, consultants, and customers (learners) who wish to expand or initiate a relationship with ASME. An L&D Talent Manager will also oversee our annual learning experience summit, train-the-trainer learning path(s), and ongoing external talent coaching & development to ensure ASME’s live, eLearning, and blended learning products are of the highest quality.


Working closely across departments, industry, and academia, the L&D Talent Manager will strategically engage target external talent through well-established outreach methods, build and maintain the external talent database in Salesforce, and support the ongoing integration, database, and documentation efforts of L&D.


The Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent additional experience in Education, HR, Business Development, or Sales Engineering, or a closely related field and a minimum of three years’ experience of talent recruitment and/or relationship management experience.


In addition, a candidate should have:


  • An influential personality, with the natural ability to influence others and “sell” highly sought-after external talent on working with ASME L&D over other options
  • Ability to connect with and build credibility (i.e. engineers new and established, executives)
  • Outstanding communication with excellent project management, listening, presentation, and written skills as well as deep attention to detail
  • Independent thinking that can learn quickly, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work alongside exceptional leaders in the industry in a collaborative setting, helping make an immediate impact in the company
  • Computer and software literacy including proficiency with MS Office
  • Experience with budgets and forecasting revenue and expenses a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
