Datto is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator role. This position is primarily responsible for the oversight and administration of the Datto Learning Management System (LMS) as well as the support, implementation, delivery, and maintenance of learning content, assets, and other resources used for instructional functions. The LMS Administrator will be instrumental in assisting the training department in evaluating Datto’s LMS needs/requirements, selecting an appropriate LMS vendor, coordinating and assisting with the implementation of the new LMS, and ongoing maintenance and support of the LMS. This role will also oversee the daily functionality of the system and its integrated tools and software, including responding to and resolving support requests from internal and external users. This position works in close partnership with stakeholders across the organization to ensure credibility, rapport, and effective communication is maintained. This individual analyzes current processes and makes recommendations for improvements which includes working with multiple departments and business units on the implementation of new services, modules, and integrations that involve the LMS. This position will report to and be supported by the Training Manager.

A look inside the job:

  • Identify methods to improve productivity and growth via the use of the LMS
  • Create content policies and standards for course and configuration management
  • Develop and maintain process control for LMS processes
  • Identify future strategic development opportunities for the LMS
  • Identify organizational needs and requirements for new LMS solution
  • Assist in selection and implementation of new LMS solution
  • Assist the review, testing, and implementation of LMS updates and enhancements
  • Manage day-to-day activities within the LMS including course and user management and enrollments
  • Work with LMS vendor when problems or questions arise to support users and troubleshoot problems
  • Serve as the primary content management resource by maintaining internal and external learning content in the LMS
  • Provide technical and “how-to” support related to the LMS for both internal and external users
  • Work directly with vendor support to resolve escalated cases
  • Generate and interpret system reports, generalize findings, and make recommendations for process and utilization improvements

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience as an LMS Administrator or in a similar technical systems administration position 
  • LMS implementation experience; preferred
  • Technical skills including troubleshooting and understanding of directory, file structures, and systems
  • Knowledge of SCORM, AICC, and/or xAPI eLearning standards; preferred
  • The ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, listening, and presentation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Excellent consulting, problem solving, and analytical skills with a detail-orientation
  • Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
  • A high level of organizational and time management skills
  • Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations
  • Must demonstrate outstanding judgment and understanding of business needs and priorities with the ability to establish a strong rapport with staff at all levels within the organization
  • The ability to effectively and accurately manage several projects at a time, prioritize and organize tasks, as well as meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills and responsive attitude; ability to respond quickly to support requests and prioritize them based on urgency.
