Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the LMS Specialist position is to 1) manage the Learning Management System (LMS) known as Bell University 2) support the delivery of training programs both in the field and online to create the best experience for the learner 3) support the field trainers to ensure they have the resources, tools and knowledge to deliver exceptional market based training programs. 4) Lead reporting and analytics for training.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Bell University (LMS)

  • Manage the Bell University platform to ensure positive end-user experience

  • Prepare training status reports and leadership dashboards

  • Serve as the Bell Partners liaison with our learning management system provider

  • Maintain LMS updates and shares update information with training team; determines if new updates should be implemented and what the impact will be on the end user. Create any additional training related to LMS updates

  • Review course evaluations and provide summaries to the training team to review each quarter

  • Create and review training analytics and reports with the training team to aide in decision making

  • Recommend the best delivery method of training technology to the training team

  • Manage the shop program platform including analytics, reporting and trends

  • Test and determine the best way to deliver training through the LMS, serves as the LMS expert on the training team

  • Meet regularly with the IT team to review tickets and with HR to discuss the Workday and LMS integration


  • Support the field with LMS reports to ensure leadership has the reports they need to manage training for their regions

  • Provide training and guidance to Regional leaders concerning the LMS reporting feature

  • Create the training quarterly executive scorecard

  • Monitor and process the leasing scorecards and leasing performance development plans each quarter

Field Trainers

  • Monitor quality of training materials used by field trainers and Bell Buddies and makes updates and adjustments as needed

  • Monitor performance of field trainers and provide analytics on performance

  • Maintain an accurate and updated directory of field trainers, their contact information and allocated training resources (i.e. A/V equipment)

  • Maintain open lines of communication between field trainers and the training team

  • Calculate and monitor the field training bonuses each quarter

  • Monitor and track the field trainer expenses each quarter and compares them to budget

Class Logistics

  • Work with field and home office leadership to determine a schedule of classes to meet training needs

  • Monitor the inventory of technology tools (laptops, projectors, etc.) for field training

  • Create and implement marketing and communications as needed


  • Remain current on developments in training and instructional methodologies including technology enhancements and attend periodic seminars, forums, and meetings to ensure currency of education

  • Provide support for annual conference and regional meetings

  • Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Must have knowledge of principles and methods training delivery

  • Knowledge of mobile learning platforms is a plus

  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies

  • Must have experience in working with diverse stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Must have strong knowledge of learning management systems and platforms

  • Must have knowledge of specific organization systems

  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Must have high proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Must have team-building, motivational, and listening skills

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

  • Must have superior interpersonal skills; ability to get along with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible

  • Must be resourceful and well organized

  • Must have excellent analytical skills

  • Must be flexible, able to manage multiple priorities and able to shift resources and priorities as required

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality

  • Must be able to work in a general office environment


Education and Background


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Experience working with a Learning Management System required

  • Experience with Cornerstone on Demand is a plus.

  • A minimum of three (3) years' recent experience in a company with 1,000 or more employees a plus
