Work in collaboration with business leaders, HR Business Partners and Enterprise Learning colleagues to develop the talent for assigned business unit(s)/segment(s), as a central point of contact. Consult to business clients to determine the critical skills gaps and develop strategies to address them.  Collaborate strongly within Enterprise Learning to proactively resource learning needs aligned to the business unit (BU) strategy and people plans.  Act as advisors for HR Business Partners for learning expertise.




Strategy Alignment and Assessment: In alignment with BU business plans and talent management strategy, conceptualizes the learning plans for his/her BU or segment. Plans and secures resources for all development activities for the BUs he/she represents. Assesses development needs for their particular client segment (BUs), drawing upon business strategy, development plan and talent data, at least annually. Measures and determines impact of all learning efforts for the BU, communicating closely with BU leaders, HRBP, Talent Partner.

Provides input to the Talent Strategy and People Plans for a given BU, in alignment with business strategy.


Solution Scoping/Management: Scopes and monitors in-flight projects for their client segments, managing any budget implications for the client, addressing an escalating red flag, addressing risks and constraints, and re-prioritizing based on client business needs and capacity internal to EL.    

Makes build versus buy decisions, in conjunction with the client and expertise internal to EL, for a particular project; hands of vendor selection and management to PL or vendor liaison


Work Coordination: Coordinates closely with the project leads in EL, who manage individual efforts and with the practice leads, to ensure on-time, quality completion of learning efforts.

Provides input to decisions on project staffing suitable for a particular effort aimed at his/her segment. Manages emerging learning requests from the BU. Resolves tough client issues.


Brings Firm-wide Resources to Bear: Working with the practice leads and EL leadership team, maintains knowledge of firm-wide efforts and emerging programs and resources to apply. Aids the BU and its HRBPs in implementing these efforts (or customizing them, if needed). Keeps BU leaders, HRBPs, and talent partners apprised on learning initiatives (both targeted toward them and firm-wide ones which affect them or further their goals), through regular meetings and quarterly status reports.




Knowledge/Job Skills

  • Experience in the areas of business development, learning consulting, program management, learning design
  • Experience as a thought partner and trusted advisor with leaders in the business

  • Able to think strategically and operationally, making sound business decisions

  • Experience in account services, consulting (internal or external)

  • Track record of working effectively with multiple stakeholders, who may have competing priorities

  • Scoping work and tracking multiple, complex projects

  • Can effectively communicate (written and oral) and influence both staff and leaders

  • Experience networking across a broad variety of stakeholders, both internal and external to HR

  • High level of consultative, influence, and decision-making skills

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex responsibilities and priorities

  • Strong analytical skills; able to make clear, data-driven decisions

  • Strong ability to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint to analyze and present a compelling story 


  • Master’s Degree in related field

  • Experience working in the financial services industry

  • Experience working as a consultant or account rep in the Training or Human Resources market
