The Daikin Learning Institute drives business value by providing excellence in learning to our external and internal customers. We provide technical HVAC education to sales and service organizations. The Learning Technologist is responsible for leading learning technology initiatives including the selection, implementation and administrative governance. The role works closely with colleagues in Learning, IT, and HR organizations.

This role will lead projects and will be expected to manage both internal and external resources. Researching and reviewing industry data to keep current on strategies and trends in learning technology will be key. The content in the Daikin Learning Institute is highly technical engineering topics and would require someone with experience on highly technical topics.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. 50% Learning Technology

Manages processes and procedures for learning technologies; including technical, administrative and vendor management support. Senior system administrator for learning technologies. Provides instruction and support to end-users in the use of technological solutions and troubleshoots technologies as needed. Partners with Instructional Designers & SME's to consult, plan, coordinate, develop, and implement digital learning solutions. Counsels training staff in the use of technology for training or educational purposes. Customizes solutions to meet the needs of the organization or the target audience. Understands the required technical standards and specifications to produce learning assets that function across multiple networks, platforms and devices. Conducts quality assurance testing and compliance of learning assets. Monitors emerging trends and technologies and assesses their value to the organization's educational or training programs.

2. 30% Project Management

Responsible for the management of multiple simultaneous projects directing the work of internal and external resources. Leverage standard learning project management practices and tools including: charter, scope, schedule, budget, risk and dashboard. Accountable for projects to be delivered on-time, within scope and budget.


3. 20% LMS Admin

The position will be responsible for, and implementing LMS solutions in support of evolving business and operational needs. Manages the LMS administrative functions including: creation of courses and course schedules, manage enrollments, set-up of user accounts, security permissions, notifications, assignments and assessments. Manages the course publication process; participates in quality testing and trouble-shooting. Builds and maintains LMS reporting. Manages billing process. Participates in the development and implementation of procedures and operating policies for LMS use. Maintains accuracy of complex LMS processes such as consistent application of course descriptions, curricula configurations, course or class changes and instructor assignments. Provides LMS training and support to the organization. Facilitates end user training of LMS application for colleagues, leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), meeting facilitators, etc., in best practices of LMS methodology and procedures. Able to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements to LMS usage. Administrates other learning technologies as needed: gamification, assessment, virtual instructor led.

Degree Preferred: IT, Learning, Education

Masters or other certifications


Experience: (Minimum Experience required after minimum education achieved.)
