General Summary

Responsible for creating, maintaining and managing online training, including interactive media, on line courses and social media platforms, for DePaul employees. Utilizes knowledge of learning theory and adult learning principles to created online learning experiences that complement and enhance other learning platforms. Designs, delivers, tests and updates solutions. Plans and coordinates annual calendar of training programs. Looks for efficiencies in registration, participant tracking and communication processes, provides data and analysis as requested.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Designs, develops and maintains instructional multimedia and social media objects to support learning needs of DePaul's employees. Determines project needs, identifies appropriate delivery methods, and creates an experience that is relevant, engaging and meets training needs and relevant learning theory. Serves as project manager and supervises vendors or partners as appropriate. Works collaboratively with colleagues to structure content, recommend platforms and deliver experience within project work plan and timeline.
  • Coordinates daily operations: organizes training resources, creates yearly training calendar, develops marketing plans and content, manages the training email box, updates the website, facilitates department purchases, manages student assistant position, manage content and digital archive.
  • Supports ePerformance as functional expert. Respond to employee questions and requests, while providing functional and technical support.
  • Supports data management registration tools to reach target audiences for online and classroom training experiences. Prepares contact materials and methods, tracks participation, and conducts follow up surveys, correspondence.
  • Liaison with other learning providers at DePaul to ensure their training offerings are communicated, participant registration (self or manual) is operational, and providers can get required participation data.
  • Liaison with other DePaul employees with responsibilities for instructional multi media and social media oversight to share best practices, resources, and experiences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or Computer Science.
  • 1-3 years of experience with Learning Management or Course Management Systems.
  • 3-5 years experience with authoring software, (i.e. Articulate, Captivate, etc.).

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Video/Audio production and editing skills (i.e. Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Audition).
  • Oracle/PeopleSoft experience.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Manages complex technology solutions; able to evaluate and recommend multi media, social learning and blended solutions based upon University and Human Resource needs and capabilities.
  • Oversight of full cycle project management of on line training experience: needs analysis, design, development, delivery and evaluation. Responsible for projects to be complete on time, within budget and within specifications.
  • Assigns and monitors tasks for student assistants and graduate interns.

Financial Responsibilities

  • Identifies and implements software/technology solutions to help make purchasing decisions.

  • Strong project and process management skills; ability to solve problems or recommend solutions.
  • Willingness to work with collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Broad knowledge of learning and development practices.
