Do you want to help make the world a better place with your experience as a talent development professional?  We’re seeking a Team Manager, Talent Development based in either New York or London to manage the global team responsible for new hire onboarding, performance management, and staff learning and development.

The position manages two to three staff members, and reports to the Director of Talent Development.  The Talent Development function is part of OSF’s global Human Resources (HR) function of 60+ members, with staff in Berlin, London, New York, and Washington, DC offices.  We support staff across our global network of offices and foundations, in over 40 countries. As a Team Manager, Talent Development at Open Society you will:

  • Oversee the global New Hire Onboarding process, and lead efforts to increase consistency and quality of the new hire experience across locations, as well as manage the team responsible for engaging and coordinating all internal stakeholders;  
  • Lead projects to define new hire training requirements, timing, and delivery methods, as well as expanded and optimized use of the Learning Management System (LMS);
  • Manage the ongoing implementation and improvement of the Performance Management process for Open Society’s hub and regional staff in Asia, the UK, Europe, Central/South America, the Middle East, and the Americas;
  • Lead efforts to mine and analyze data captured in the Performance Management system to inform talent development priorities, and develop and implement survey and reporting methods to assess and communicate client satisfaction and the impacts of Onboarding and Performance Management;
  • Select and manage vendors to lead in-classroom training sessions, and/or organizational development efforts and employee workshops.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Seven to ten years of relevant experience in Talent Management and Learning and Development, working  within a complex, global organization of 500 or more employees;
  • Experience in designing, developing, and delivering instructor-led, blended and e-learning, and in configuration and management of a Learning Management System (LMS);
  • Experience defining or enhancing talent processes to optimize efficiency, role clarity and effectiveness;
  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to define scope, deliverables, tasks and timelines, and to manage multiple work streams concurrently;
  • Experience managing people, with the ability to set clear expectations, provide feedback, guide direct reports to deliver and develop their knowledge and skills;
  • Ability to communicate, listen, and influence, engaging a full spectrum of stakeholder groups, including colleagues within HR, staff across our hub and regional offices, and senior leaders;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; experience developing and delivering presentation and organizational communications tailored to various audiences;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with staff at all levels from a diverse array of backgrounds, to navigate conflict, negotiate compromises, and deliver exceptional client service.

The role requires travel internationally approximately 25% of the time.

  • Workday experience and experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS).
