SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Responsible for the Munson Healthcare talent development strategies, including system-wide employee development plans, leadership development, employee engagement surveys and action plans, manager retreats, meeting facilitation, new employee orientation, new leader assimilation,  and internal coaching.
  2. Effectively engages stakeholders as sponsors, champions, and drivers of talent development initiatives.
  3. Designs, develops, implements and evaluates programs and processes, ranging from new employee onboarding through senior leadership retreats.
  4. Partners with internal team members and external vendors as needed in the design and delivery of initiatives.
  5. Manages vendor relationships including contracts, pricing and service definition/quality. Ensures adherence to vendor requirements e.g. intellectual property standards.
  6. Strong business acumen, capable of translating organizational goals to organization effectiveness and leadership development strategies and applications.
  7. Strong collaboration and consensus-building skills to facilitate solid working relationships with all levels of the organization.
  8. Effectively prioritizes and manages multiple projects.
  9. Directs the daily work of talent development staff, including all typical managerial duties
  10. Develops and manages the HEI budget. Provides regular status reports on budget performance.
  11. Facilitates classroom training, meetings, conferences and workshops as needed.
  12. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
  13. Measures and assesses all talent development initiatives. Monitors effectiveness of programs and recommends changes to increase effectiveness.
  14. Constructs training materials, instructor guides, manuals, training aids, E-learning, self-directed programs and evaluation/assessment instruments.
  15. Markets programs to ensure the maximum participation for courses and to create a positive learning environment.

Requirements

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, education, business, psychology or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

  • 5 years’ experience working in organizational development, training or leadership development required.

  • Experience as a team lead/manager required. 

     

    PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Certification in leadership development programs, such as MBTI, DiSC, DDI, or similar preferred. 3-5 years’ experience as a project manager for large scale training and OD initiatives preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan for and manage multiple, system-wide leadership development/OD projects.  A solid record of successful, large-scale project implementations with proven results.

  • Demonstrated experience in instructional design, classroom delivery, meeting facilitation and coaching.

  • Highly developed internal consulting skills and a proven ability to influence stakeholders. Ability to communicate in an effective and compelling way with senior leadership.  

  • Certification in programs/tools related to leadership training, culture development or OD is a plus (MBTI, DiSC, DDI, etc).

  • A career history of continuous advancement demonstrating increased levels of responsibility and complexity in each role.

  • Advanced teaching, facilitation, consulting, coaching, program development and management skills. Knowledge of principles of organizational development & organizational effectiveness.

  • Strong, effective and clear verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and strong presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated management skills, including highly-developed skills in directing, coaching, engaging and developing direct reports.

  • Advanced skills in conducting needs assessments, program development, delivery and evaluation.  Ability to develop proposals/solutions that meet key, organizational gaps.

  • Broad knowledge and experience in successfully applying principles of organizational development including employee engagement, retention, leadership development, coaching, formal feedback etc.

  • Experience working in a healthcare environment and/or a lean environment is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of how Human Resources functions within a large organization.
