JOB PURPOSE: The L&D Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering development and talent management programs and solutions across the organization through coaching, consulting, and training. Works with colleagues to support organization wide initiatives, carry out the Talent Development & Learning strategy, and assess opportunities for continued growth and development of leaders, employees, and teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Overall responsibilities for this position are comprised of five primary areas including: program management, consultative intervention analysis, collaborative coaching, relationship management and facilitation. 

2. Serve as internal consultant on OD strategies, partner with entity HRBP in the evaluation, prioritization, development and implementation of solutions to develop Piedmont employees and inspire continuous learning. 

3. Works closely with L&D Director, instructional designers, HRBPs, subject matter experts, and clients to understand business learning needs and performance gaps through organizational and/or department needs assessment process 

4. Design, deliver, and lead cross functional OD solutions that address identified needs 

5. Provide coaching for high performing leaders and transition/onboarding coaching for new leaders 

6. Manage a variety of programs and projects, including managing all aspects of program development and implementation and buy-in from key stakeholders 

7. Evaluate learning programs for effectiveness and desired outcomes and utilize feedback to initiate changes, refinements, and improvements 

8. Develops advanced level knowledge in all organizational processes, applications, customers and business units 

9. Works on one or more learning development projects simultaneously, using predefined standards and tools for learning content. Ensures high quality design, regular reviews with internal clients (i.e., from proof of concept through delivery) and subject matter experts 

10. Participates in testing and validation of new or enhanced systems applications as part of the preparation process to deliver learning programs 

11. Creates assessments for reinforcement, including situational and scenario-based questions. Provides post-training follow-up and learner desk-side support as needed to support learning transfer; 

12. Provides regular updates to Talent Development & Learning management of the status of all design and development activities, completion of milestones and potential conflicts. 

13. Facilitation to various size groups and varying levels of employees among the Piedmont Career Pathway. 

14. Clear understanding of generational differences and how it applies to various learning platforms and delivery methods. 

15. Ability to travel between assigned hospitals/entities as needed but up to 3 days per week. Overnight stay requirement is minimum. 


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Human Resource Development or related discipline. 

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three (3) years of training content development and delivery experience, program and project management, and leading learning interventions required. 

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: 

None. 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Post-secondary educational, instructional technology and design, business and/or technical education preferred. Experience working in healthcare preferred. Experience working within a consultative learning model/structure. Knowledge of human behavior, adult learning program delivery, and organizational development theory. DDI Facilitation certification or CPLP credential is a plus.
