The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co (HSB) is seeking a Technical Training Specialist.  The individual will design, develop, package and deliver training to assure appropriate technical competency and business acumen necessary for engineering staff. Continuously assess engineering training needs and evaluate current and emerging instructional technologies for use as alternative methods of training development and delivery. In addition, provides support in the oversight, maintenance and upgrade of existing training material for the Engineering department.


Remote opportunities could be available in our branch offices located in Chicago, IL or Valley Forge, PA.

Prefer location is Hartford, CT

Requirements

        

Required:  
•              High School Diploma and some college level coursework related to communication, and learning content design
•              Experience in the use of PowerPoint, or similar applications, to prepare and deliver live presentations
•              General familiarity of the roles and responsibilities of a Loss Control Inspector
•              Experience in instructional design, adult learning and instructional technology
•              Proficient in the use of PowerPoint and training development software
•              Knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
•              Visual design skills and ability to storyboard 
•              Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
•              Time management skills

Desired:
•              Bachelor’s degree in Instructional design, educational technology, learning and performance, or other related discipline
•              5+ years’ experience in online curriculum development
•              Experience in the use of Articulate Storyline®

Travel may be required 15%
