Trainer: Vouchers and Contract Renewal/ Rent Adjustments

 

 

Navigate Affordable Housing Partners (Navigate) is a major player in the affordable housing industry with offices in Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia and Connecticut. This position is based in Birmingham, AL and the Trainer is responsible for coordinating and implementing external training as it relates to Navigate’s lines of business, including but not limited to work as a Performance Based Contract Administrator (PBCA) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

 

Major Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  1. Coordinate external training as requested by owners/agents. This includes but is not limited to:

    1. Schedule training time and location;

    2. Develop agendas for specific trainings;

    3. Develop and update training materials as necessary;

    4. Follow-up with customer

  2. Research and prepare training tools and materials (print and electronic) that comply with the terms of the appropriate Navigate contracts and agreements, the appropriate federal, local and state regulations governing, and Navigate standards;

  3. Research, monitor, and as necessary develop testing procedures and evaluation tools and techniques to better ensure effectiveness of training protocols and materials;

  4. Travel regularly to conduct customer training, attend and participate in conferences, and assist other Navigate offices.

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include but are not limited to:

     

  1. Knowledge of general operations and procedures of affordable housing programs, including HUD Handbook 4350.1, Section 8 Renewal Guide, MAT Guide, HUD Handbook 4350.3;

  2. Ability to utilize a variety of training skills and methods in order to adapt and keep up-to-date with changing trends and best practices in learning;

  3. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs and web based systems as well as eLearning programs for the purpose of producing training materials and presentations;

  4. Ability to communicate orally in a clear and concise manner and effectively present information to staff and all external customers.

     

    Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience

     

Bachelor’s Degree preferred with major coursework in public or business administration, education, or a related area. Three to five years’ experience in affordable housing (preferably Section 8), with previous online training experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
