Job Summary
The Training and Development Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities for program operations and projects associated with the team of TD Specialists in support of the department and Company’s strategic goals and objectives.

 

Essential Functions

  • Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
  • Ensure alignment with the TD vision and strategy and support department leadership to achieve overall success in the creation and management of company training programs.
  • Both actively and through subordinate staff, develop and manage training programs in specific schools of development for professional and project staff (i.e. Leadership, Business Skills, Project Management and Safety-Compliance-Technology). Responsibilities to include but not limited to design, facilitation, development, communication, implementation, evaluation and reporting as it relates to programs and projects.
  • Direct leadership and involvement in the management of the collection of the Matrix Leadership Development Programs.
  • Provide guidance and direction to TD Specialist staff by setting priorities, coordinating activities, setting expectations and motivating to execute project that meets or exceeds established goals.
  • Set employee objectives, conduct reviews and advance the development of the individual members of the TD Specialist team providing coaching and mentoring as needed.
  • Develop high-trust, professional relationships and collaborate with internal clients; both in the field and our regional offices.
  • Partner with internal and external subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop content and complete projects as requested by the business.
  • Gather and leverage customer feedback regarding value and satisfaction of training initiatives and programs.
  • Evaluate and modify training programs and departmental standards, as needed, as part of our continuous improvement efforts to ensure the highest quality possible for Matrix University programs.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in corporate training, organizational development or related field; related experience in a construction or manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, industrial psychology or other related field preferred. Equivalent working experience is also acceptable.
  • Experienced in applying adult learning principles within instructional design.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, deploy, evaluate and manage organization-wide training programs.
  • Strong facilitation skills are essential.
  • Proficient working knowledge of various learning management systems.
  • Experience designing and developing computer-based training modules using e-learning authoring tools (Adobe Captivate, Articulate, etc.) to create courseware.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and suite of programs.
  • Experience designing and managing Leadership development programs preferred.
  • Active member of an education / training-related professional society.
  • Professional certification desired (for example: ATD’s Certified Professional in Learning and Performance Certification).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to organize, present and articulate ideas both verbally and in writing.      
  • Effective time management skills; able to simultaneously work on and successfully complete multiple projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work employees with a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Able to travel 15+% of the time.
