Position Summary:


The Training Specialist will perform a wide array of assignments in alignment with the Professional Development department’s initiatives, with an emphasis on client service, quality, timeliness and professionalism. The Training Specialist will work with internal and external clients to plan, rehearse and support virtual training events. This position will also support the new hire training process and will support the Professional Development department with projects and operational tasks as needed. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with various teams to determine technical requirements and equipment needed for events.
  • Set up, coordinate, support and record virtual events.
  • Edit recorded webinars and upload them to Learning Management System(s) (LMS).
  • Gather relevant information to and from vendors necessary to resolve and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Establish, document and share best practices for supporting virtual events.
  • Serve as producer or moderator on virtual events as needed.
  • Manage the webinar support mailbox and calendar.
  • Schedule and coordinate the firm-wide new hire training program.
  • Create and manage all new hire learning plans and learning plan reports in the LMS.
  • Collect, consolidate and assist in pulling metrics on virtual events supported on a quarterly basis.
  • Perform testing of LMS functionality and provide general LMS maintenance support as needed.
  • Provide suggestions on how to improve internal LMS processes.
  • Maintain and organize the team’s network archive.
  • Create and send marketing communications regarding upcoming training.
  • Provide back-up support to the firm’s Training Administrator on tasks such as scheduling, running systems imports and processing external credit submissions.
  • Create and maintain training documentation to support training events.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent client service, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound organizational skills, attention to detail, creative, resourceful.
  • Strong technical aptitude and computer knowledge including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Works well under pressure, displays initiative and ability to interact with all levels of organization
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, video editing tools, and legal document management systems a plus
  • Ability to work within a virtual team environment
  • A self-starter who desires to show ownership and commitment to the job; ability to work independently

Qualifications & Prior Experience:

  • High school diploma. Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent in education and experience).
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Human Resources, Training or a related field.
  • Sound working knowledge of webinar applications.
  • Prior legal industry experience a plus
  • Prior Learning Management System (LMS) administration
