JOB OVERVIEW The Learning and Development Digital Engagement Strategist and Curator is responsible for the management and curation of the UCSF Learning and Organization Development Department (L&OD) learning curriculum (instructor-led, e-learning, multimedia, full text / PDF documents, third party online portal content, etc.). The employee will ensure that the SumTotal learning management system (LMS) and department website are maintained in a condition that allows for the greatest dissemination of learning content and engagement related resources. Leveraging data analytics, the employee will essentially shape the way the wealth of resources are arranged and facilitate the discovery of targeted content that meets the specific professional development needs of staff, faculty and learners. LEARNING & ORGANIZATION DEVELOPMENT Learning and Organization Development department supports all UCSF staff and leadership at all levels up to the Chancellor and his cabinet. The department’s focus is on creating continuous learning environment and supporting organizational effectiveness. The department interacts and operates at the following levels: * Providing organization-wide consulting regarding strategy, engagement, change management, etc. * Consulting with departments, schools, UCSF Health and Campus executive leadership * Developing individuals in professional and leadership competencies * Administering the learning management system and compliance training. It is the only campus in the 10-campus UC system dedicated exclusively to the health sciences. *LI-NL1 Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training * Five+ years’ experience in digital content production or editorial role, preferably with a focus on learning content and platforms * Advanced experience with digital content usage and adoption (data analytics). Demonstrated content administration and learning management systems experience (e.g. SumTotal, Cornerstone, etc.). Experience with advanced search / curation platform capabilities (e.g., machine learning, recommendation engines) * Demonstrated experience implementing user interface design best practices and guidelines in websites and / or production software. Experience creating taxonomies and tagging digital content * Demonstrated knowledge of design principles and guidelines for area of expertise (i.e., visual design, interaction design, information / data visualization, user interface software). Solid understanding of current trends in visual design, learning design and / or learning technology * Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze business needs, user requirements and technical constraints and identify ways in which software or web designs can support those needs * Working knowledge of training and development, performance management and workplace learning. Ability to apply knowledge to achieve successful instructional design outcomes. Working knowledge of professional and leadership development strategies * Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Strong written and presentation skills * Effective time management skills. Excellent project and process management skills. Project Management experience * Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications: * MA or BS degree in library science, computer science, or STEM discipline related field MA or PhD I/O psychology or related field * Some working knowledge of XML, including experience with XML schemas and the use of XML editors and the manipulation of metadata across systems and platforms * Knowledge of Boolean search methodology and database analysis * Knowledge of software development and the enterprise environment * Demonstrated understanding of other related areas of Information Technology (IT), such as web and software and project management * Ability to provide a clear rationale for designs and strategies in a compelling, context-appropriate manner to diverse audiences * In-depth knowledge of relevant processes and procedures * Strong vendor management experience, ideally with 3rd party content providers n/a The University of California San Francisco is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
